Icon2 Fuel Pump

Hey guys! I figured this would be the right place to ask for some advice.

I have a stock 1995 gsr motor with usdm itr pistons (I/H/E combo) in a 1993 civic si hatchack (obd1) and it is that time to replace my fuel pump. Unfortunately, my oem fuel pump has been discontinued and now I am leaning towards a bosch fuel pump. Also, I am aware of the most popular fuel pumps, so please stay on topic.

Anyways, anyone have any experience with bosch fuel pumps?

Here is the link for the specific fuel pump that popped out for mine:
http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...544_0416981999

Is this fuel pump okay to use for my gsr motor? The specs for the bosch fuel pump are within oem spec, but the bosch fuel pump pressure rating is 28. I know that the oem psi is between 39-46, so should I still get the bosch fuel pump?

Thanks!

43 gph that's about 190lph idk about the psi thing tho pressure at the rail should be 36-44 psi for the VTEC b18's. I've never trusted bosh tho walbro has a better reputation if you want to buy it, it would work.

Buy a Walbro and be done with it...they're tried-and-true pumps that cost under $100. They make a 190lph and 255lph, either one would be fine.

Walbro it is then.

I'm gonna get the 190lpl model. Do I need to change my stock fuel pressure regulator?

Looks like you convinced me as well

I'm gonna aim for the 190lpl model. Do I need to change my stock fuel pressure regulator?

Alright thank you for the quick reply.

Lastly, you wouldn't happen to know the part numbers for the walbro 190lpl and the 255lpl?

You realize how OVERKILL 320lph is right lol the stock regulator only hold back soo much, I noticed my car ran richer when I installed my 255 way back when I still had the stock gsr in it.

Been there, when I installed the Holly 255lph in my RS I ran rich with the stock FPR, replaced it with the B&M adjustable.

BTW, needed the 255 because of the 75 shot ZEX system, or would have gone with the 190lph. 94

So is there a possibility that I'll run rich with 190lpl?
I'm planning on barring my motor in the near future.

It wont run rich with the 255lph or the 190lph, but if you increase the flow to ridiculous levels (like running a 320lph on an otherwise stock engine), you may start to overpower the return flow line and FPR, causing overpressurization in the fuel rail and injectors which in turn adds more fuel = rich.

Cliff Notes: Get the 190lph or 255lph....if you're planning to build in the future, i highly doubt you will need anything bigger than the 255 anyway (supports ~500whp+ on a single)

Cool thanks! Cleared things up for me.

Lastly, Denso makes our fuel pumps right?
