Default Fuel Depressurizing?

is it possible for your car to have its fuel pressure drop while your driving? My teg when I come to a stop has trouble picking up speed when i step on the gas to go. It feels as if its not getting enough gas when i accelerate. It happens with greater frequency when the engine warms up also. So im wondering if my fuel pressure drops when im driving and thats whats causing my acceleration stutter from a stand still. Can anyone help?

Also, where can I find a decent priced fuel pressure regulator? Cause Discount was selling one for like 200 bucks.

your fuel pressure should not drop when you are at a stop with the car running/on. Even with your car on keyposition 2, the fuel pump is keeping the system pressureized. Check if your fuel pump is overworking itself by checking the amp draw. If the amp draw is higher than spec, then it is over working itself to pushing enough fuel into the system. when was the fuel filter last changed, if its up for scheduled maintenance, change it.

How long has it been happening. Do you use the recommanded gas grade. Do you get gas from the same station. All these could be factors.

Also, vacuum pressure is a big thing also. With your car running and idling, vacuum pressure should be about 40-50. With the throttle wide open, it should drop down to close to zero.

Are you measuring your fuel pressure? If not, you don't really know whether fuel pressure is actually responsible for the problem...

changed my filter about 2 weeks ago and there wasnt any problem... its only recently that its been happening. I changed my intake, and when the i had my intake duct removed, i swapped out the filter. It feels as if its struggling to push gas through. To put it in terms that could be understoof universely, its like driving a manual car getting out first and ur not giving it enough gas, except my car is automatic. The problem is on and off... but i notice it more when my car has been running for a while. BTW when i changed my filter, it looked as if it had never been changed, i just bought my teg and the guy who owned it b4 me was an idiot, he didnt know how to treat cars. So perhaps that can be a bit more insightful to my problem.

I haven't had this happen to me, but I've heard people have their FPR fail after replacing the filter. Must be dislodging some junk from the lines or fittings, that goes into the FPR...

Still, all you've said is how the car acts. Fuel pressure isn't the only thing that can cause what you're seeing. Even a stock FPR isn't real cheap, so I'd want to know if it was the problem. But if you don't have a guage & you're willing to accept that maybe it wasn't the real problem??

Plugs, wires, cap/rotor, spark timing, all kinds of other stuff might possibly be causing this. Have you done all that stuff recently?? Or is that stuff all old from the guy you bought it from?

replaced cap rotor and wires.. hell i replaced the whole damn distributor, i ran my car through a comp and it gave me back a code saying fuel mix too lean. When i replaced my filter, car ran great. its only recently that its acting like this. It fuel related, i just dont know where. Also, when i remove my gas cap to fill up, everytime u can hear a loud suction noise.
