Thanks for the write up. I've already replaced the starter once (only a few months ago and with used parts), now I'm going to see if this will correct the issue (and for a longer period of time).

Does anyone know how to rebuild a 96-00 ek (d16) civic starter? I cleaned the stater with a scotch brite cloth and cleaned the contacts but I'm wondering if theres a kit out there like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/281127991738...649&rmvSB=true.
