Default Fidanza aluminum flywheel on a street driven Gizzer(GSR)....is it worth it or is it overkill???

Like the post says, I want to order my flywheel and I was looking at the Fidanza flywheel and the Kaiten Karui flywheel. I was wondering, for a street driven car, is it worth getting the aluminum Fidanza flywheel or should I go for the lightweight steel Kaiten flywheel? reason I ask is because I have heard of aluminum flywheels warping after a while.

I plan to boost my car hopefully at the beginning of this summer...just wanted to know people's input as far as flywheels go.

The flywheel will be going on a 97 GSR Integra.

yes..chromoly steel ...nothing to sit and worry about...because i have heard of warping aluminum wheels as well as some brands where the teeth seperate from the disk because they are made in two pieces

On a daily driven GSR with bolt-ons or low boost, there is no way the car will make enough power to shatter or warp a flywheel. Stick with a trusted name brand and you won't have issues.

I have the ACT Prolite 8.8 lb flywheel on my boosted setup and I love it except for the difficulty getting traction in first and second gear compared to a stock flywheel.

The Fidanza is an excellent choice, and is always my primary recommendation for a lightweight flywheel. Do a quick search here on H-T and you'll turn up many posts from members who have had positive experiences with the Fidanza / Clutch Masters unit.

fidanza...here is a case right here...

"i used a fidanza lightweight flywheel and the outer ring seperated from the inner part. i haven't heard of it on an itr flywheel. now i only use a one piece chrome moly flywheel that doesn't have any way to come apart. "

and Jun was the brand that was on the type r

Interesting. I haven't heard a case of the fidanza failing. Good thing I have the ACT one then.

LOOKS LIKE i'LL BE LLOKING AT THE ACT STREETLITE AND THE KAITEN KARUI....THE TODA ONE SEEMS GOOD, BUT I DON'T THINK I CAN AFFORD 480 DOLLARS FOR A FLYWHEEL.

now, what is better...the 8.8lbs flywheel or a 9 lb flywheel? I know lighter is better, but for a street car, is 8.8 a little too much or should i not worry about that.

.2 lbs?

You won't notice the difference between the two.

go with the fidanza.... People that tell you its hard in traffic are idiots because either A im an amazing driver and do everything rite or B it isnt. and there are no problems with them, the only problem you could see is it cracking BUT that only happens if you have sick amounts of HP. mine has seen the track 3 times this year with over 35 runs and i have no problems
