Default engine flooded wont start please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok i have a 96-99 gsr running a p28 ecu in it . I bought the car from a friend last night and drove it home car ran great when i got to his hous the car started right up . he said first thing in the morning whe its cold the car has a hard time staying started. if you hold the gas pedal down a bit to keep the rpm's up the car is fine for the rest of the day after that . The car does have a fuel cut off switch which i turned off due to the fact i live in a high crime area. This morning i go out to get in it and start it up and it starts and then dies about 2-3 times i got it briefley started and then it died again . I tried cranking it and cranking it but no dice it wont start so i pulled the plugs out and disconected the injectors and tried to see if the car was flooded ( i could smell gas) I looked into the compustion chamber and the tops of the pistons looked damp . i put everything back together and left it and went to work . is letting the car sit going to help it ? what do i need to do help please thank you

Try the following steps

1. Hold the gas pedal to the floor
2. Crank the engine a few times
3. Let the gas pedal go and try it again

when you hold the pedal to the floor, the TPS will cut the fuel injectors since the throttle is wide open. This is called "clear-flood mode."

That little amount of gas will evaporate in a matter of minutes. Generally its nearly impossible to flood a car because the spark plug will eventually put the fire to it....however I have had my spark plugs covered so badly in carbon buildup from "flooding" that they wouldnt spark. I would suggest fixing the problem which sounds like you havea bad base map loaded in the ecu.

integra's to the best of my knowledge are not equiped with this. MAYBE on the older ones. but i know for a fact my car will start if i floor it while cranking. a lot of american cars have that feature. its lots of fun to mess with people when you are driving there car.

i have a 2001 integra
