Dry Ice Dent Removal?
Anyone tried this on their dents? I have 3 small dents that I would like to get out and someone told me putting dry ice on it would help.

the only thing i could guess it would do is freez the dent, causing it to contract while the surrounding metal doesnt, causing the metal to get "stretched" (similar to how u can get rid of wrinkles by getting a face lift) and might pull the dent out. Thats just a guess...

i watched them do this on monster garage on a pt cruiser. it didn't work on the cruiser's roof but it is actually supposed to work on smaller areas as kind of a quick fix. it freezes the area causing contraction and stretching and then when it returns to room temp the dent pops out (or at least it's supposed to). no promises on it not damaging your paint though....

yah i saw that too!! Monster garage rocks hard!! But they were talking about this before on this board a while back... FEW people tried it and said it doesn't work. Even to the point of keeping the dry ice on there a while. And they said still nothing. Sounds like physics but i think it's just myth. My .02

that guy at monster garage used regular ice....not dry
it supposedly makes it expand then contract quick from the rapid temp changes

It works, I have done it myself, and I have seen others use it as well.
How well it works depends on the dent, some come out completely, some not at all.
Basicly the drastic change in tempatures causes the metal to flex, and the expanding and contracting causes the dent to slowly work itself out.
