DPR Stage 6+, Toda B, Skunk2 Manifold GSR fails NYC emissions......
Hey guys I went for emission testing this past saturday and failed. One thing I didnt do was set all my cam gears and timing back to 0, so I just failed on the NOx part. acceptable NOx levels are 3.00 but mine showed up at 4.73.
I set my gears back to zero, but the breather hose on, and set the fuel settings on my Fields SFC-VTEC to 0% from 1K-5K RPM's. Do I need to retard my timing?
I also put in a bottle of this chemical into my gas tank that says it'll guarantee me to pass.....what do you all think?

if it doesn't work this time, just keep detuning it till it passes
and then go out and get a few beers

Yeah, I guess I'll just have to do that...and at the same time I dont want to keep wasting $25 everytime it doesn't pass.

Retarding timing should also help a bit. I have heard those miracle fuel additives to pass emissions do help.
Emissions suck! Im still tryin to figure out why I cant pass also! But I guess emissions rules will help to keep out planet beautiful...so Im for it.
Good luck!

can you pop in the stock ecu?
do you have fpr? i was told yesterday to go really lean, like 40 wot. if no fpr maybe put your field into the negatives??? (no redlining to and from the test! )

Hey,
I had to lean mine out a lot on the dyno to pass. I thought leaning mostly helps HCs though? Not sure what helps on the NOX stuff...
Also, I think you want to drive the hell outta the car on the way to the place. Doesn't the cat work better if it's hot? Then when you get there, go ahead and lean it out more...
Thoughts?

i have about 8 weeks to pass...

One tip for you all, don't be a lazy bum like me and wait till the last minute to do safety inspection, otherwise wyou'll be running around like a lunatic. And dont forget solder all your wiring harnesses.
