Around here if you dont have any receipts/paper work and the vins dont match, they'll impound your car. Go back to that shop and get a receipt for the engine and any work done. either that or etch a new vin number onto the block (that was sarcasm, kinda illegal)

I used to go to the "street races" in Ontario even before it was corrupted with too many cops and posers, yet still I seriously doubt that many lives are lost to street racing. I just don't think that it compares with drunk driving or how many people fall asleep at the wheel.
BTW, in my 8 yrs. going to them, I saw exactly 0 people killed during street racing.

Drunk driving and street racing are the same in my book: a conscious decision was made to do something that is known to be wrong and can have serious consequences that affect more than just the driver. Consequences do happen. As driving is a privledge and not a right, our society treats both drunk driving and street racing too lightly. Barnstorm a neighborhood in a small plane "just for fun" and see how quickly license revocation and jail time is issued.

So, you can beat a radio. Or better yet, they just get your plate and wait for you to come home.
To the OP, call honda with the engine number and see if you can obtain the VIN from the donor vehicle. You can check the VIN for theft.

What I am saying is that if we can find a way to stop .00001% of drunk driving deaths, it will save more lives than 100% of "street racing" deaths (we're talking about 1,000,000s vs. 40 per year in the US).
Where I live, 2 girls in a convertible Mustang drove fast and died; it was in the newspapers as being a "street race", and now everyone with an exhaust, intake, rims, or any import is bound to be pulled over for nothing. I'm not exaggerating; it's bad here in my small city in NorCal to the point that there are no import modification shops. My friend tried to start a shop, unsuccessfully and then worked for someone who had a shop and went out of business.
Because I am going off-topic and prolonging a thread, this will be my last reply. Sorry, I just had to say something when people talk about street racing deaths, it seems like they've been brainwashed by the police.

Your statistics are literally dripping with ****.
Driving is a privledge, not a right. If you choose to do something illegal, sack up and take the consequences.

i do agree that this is a great detourant against street racing and stealing cars, but how ******* stupid is this?? If they're going to punish street racers this harshly, shouldn't they just stick drunk drivers in the crusher and save their cars??
I think this is a stupid solution to the problem.

The drivers should be punished, not the cars. Alot of useful parts that could have gone to a better home.
The same way here in WA. People said that these two kids were racing when a car popped out(not yelwding to trafficc and taking a illegal right turn) crashed into one of the cars. But who did they blame. The kid in the import. Go figure. That is why I try and keep myself on the downlow. I have had so many cops drive behind me for miles and I dont even go a mile over the speedlimit or push on my car. I dont even take a turn because the ****** might lie and say that I didnt use a blinker so he cant write me up for like five different offences.

exactly
All they're doing is narrowing our market and taking away good parts. If any state/province started doing this to mid 70s muscle cars, people would be up in arms....
