Dc2 Vin
I was wondering if the vin on a dc integra is anywhere else besides the dash, firewall and engine and transmission... I think something is up with the teg I just got cause the vin says its a RS and it has a sun roof. We all know the RS didnt come with a sun roof. Also the vin on the firewall has been welded on

I cant check the doors or hood cause it has GSR doors and it has the JDM front end. The car also has full GSR interior and a JDM cluster. I also cant check the engine cause it has a B16a. The thing that gets me is you can tell that the vin on the fire wall has been welded on. The firewall on my LS integra is smooth has butter. The car has a rebuilt tittle, so my guess is someone stole thierself a GSR and swappen every vin out....

That sounds a little sketchy if you ask me... Does the VIN that's visible through the windshield match the one on the firewall? I would imagine it does if it was welded on. But that might have just been done for inspection purposes.

sorry i dont have pics. No someone removed the vin sticker inside the door, it has been repainted. The sunroof looks stock. The same has my LS integra.. No info on tires, it has rotas on it... My guess is they swapped the whole dash out. I've done it several times on CRX's.. Those things are bad for cracked dash's..... Oh well I guess, I'll still drive my GSR/RS.....LOL

Re: Dc2 Vin (illicit_kustomz)
where does it say that its a RS model?
you said your not sure because theres no actual vin..
DC2 = GSR/type R
DC4 = RS/LS/GS
ur confusing me even more!!!
i would also love to know why youd buy a car that has almost to none original parts on it

there should be vin stickers on your trunk too?
but sounds pretty shady.

ok I got ahold of the orignal owner. He said its actually a GSR but it had a salvaged tittle. He said it was totaled in the front, so thats why it has the JDM front end and a B16a. So he had a RS with a clean tittle so he swapped the vins from the RS to the GSR. So I have a GSR with a RS tittle. I dont really care cause I only have $1200 in the car... I traded my 99 R6 for it......

Thats still ilegal, and if you get caught the car gets taken away, and you can get felony charges for a vin swap. *( I have a felony for having my 73 trans am plates on my 77 because it wouldn't pass smog )

well that just does not make sense, I rather have a salvaged car than a car that has a tittle from the wrong car. Eventually if you get caught you will be in deep trouble. Probably he just did that so the value would not be lower and not have it to get it inspected, so maybe you should pay closer attention maybe there is more than what you know right now.

I'm not worried.. I live in ky and cops dont give a **** about anything here..lol. I'm pretty good friends with most of them... Also the only time you have to get a car inspected is when you buy one out of state, and when they look at it the only thing they do is look at the vin on the dash... So its all good

So you paid for a clean title car that is actually salvaged. That is shady as hell and highly illegal. It opens you to a host of issues, such as insurance fraud if the car is ever damaged. Why don't you IM both VINs to me and let me check them?

Probably because it was interesting and cheap.
