CTR Pistons into LS Motor Question!

CTR Pistons into LS Motor Question!
Will i need to replace the headgasket caz of the 12+ compression.
Run a minumum of 93 octane?
And the horse power should be over 200hp.. no?

Re: (Steven.)
unless you go ls-vtec i dont think you will 200whp out of a ls motor going N/a....im not saying its not possible..and ls's are rated at 142 hp but they probably make 120-125 whp...!!!!!

Re: (Steven.)
nopp firstable GSR are rated at 170 hp at the crank..not whp..plus when you higher your compression you also want to upgrade your cams so you can take advantage of your high compression pistons...
Ls block with CTR pistons
gsr or b16 head with CTR cams/Im and throttle body
intake ,4-1 header and 2.5 exhaust
b16 tranny and stage cluth with a light flywheel..
get it built by someone that know what they doing...
GO GET IT TUNE AND YOU GONNA LIKE THE #'s.....

Re: (Steven.)
It sounds like you think the only difference in the LS's 142 hp and the GS-R's 170 hp is the compression (9.2 to 10.6)? This would be very naive.

Re: (JDM_dc2_B18c)
So CTR pistons on my LS rods would be 12.16.1 compression or so i read.. And along with that i should get better cams such as these AEM's?
http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-3547.cfm
However what is the horse power with just ctrs
and what is the horse power with ctr and aem cam gears
wut else is the difference in the motor from the gsr and type r?

Re: (Steven.)
CTR pistons aren't going to give you **** for HP.....they'll bump up your compression, but its not going to do much for your motor cuz your stock cams suck. If you used CTR pistons and went with something like Crower 403's with upgraded valve springs/retainers, THEN the pistons would actually be producing to their potential.
COMPRESSION DOES NOT = HORSEPOWER

that should do it...add some adjustable cams gear and some eagle or forged rods, but remember well built and a good tune is the key...

hmm i bought sume ctr with ls rods already on them 81 Mm no over bore.. i was looking at those AEM cam gears , or i am hearing the name Crower 403, along with cam gear.. and a good tune.. anyone know what kind of numbers are possible?

ctr's
to get to 200hp your gonna need some good cams 404's not sure about
403's "I've never met or heard of anyone with 403's that has made over 180hp if i'm sure there is someone out there who has and if there is let's see a dynograph" Also if your using a LS head your gonna need major headwork. It would probably cheaper to go Ls-vtec like Lscivic1999 said.
Oh and yes you would have to run 93 with those piston's... and I'm not clear on your headgasket question??

Actually, it sounds as if your wrong and he's right. a USDM gsr is rated at 170hp with a 10:1 CR. BUT since he's reffering to the 10.6:1 CR, he must be talking about the JDM b18c which is 180hp.
Also, you should go here http://www.nonvtec.com , there are alot of guys over there making nice power with all motor LS and b20's. Prefferably, they use the PR3 or P30 b16 piston's because they snap right onto the LS Rods, while the CTR pistons require much more work and clearance must also be thought about with the valves.
