corrosion inside distributor cap
I have a new cap and rotor, and today I decided to take it off and see what it looked like after using it for about a month. Much to my surprise, there was a lot of blueish build up on the 4 terminals inside the cap. It is on the coil spring as well.
There is also a coating of white powder on the components behind the dust sheild... What could be going on? I don't notice any driveability problems with the car, but I am really wondering what this corrosion is caused by??
Cap and rotor are napa parts. Anybody have any ideas?

Re: corrosion inside distributor cap (bizmackus)
I have had the same probelm. Mine got so bad that the engine would misfire and not go anyfaster. IF you full throttled it, it would stay at the mph you were at.
You need to take some engine cleaner and wipe the cap and rotor off. Untill you see no corrision.
Good thing you found out early.
