Might want to include the application and model/year of car.

What kind of power are you making?

I'd use a competition over an action clutch, especially on a DD. Actions aren't bad, but competitions prob have a better warranty if anything f's up.

It's a 97 Turbo Gsr...300whp 240tq
I'm looking at the stage 3 Kevlar from action or the stage 3 from competetion with the segmented ceramic... Just looking for a great driveable clutch since I drive 65-80miles everyday... I would only autocross it once a year..

Never had a problem with comp clutches in my cars. jrsc civic, h22 swapped civic (stage 2 street disc). Buddy used it in his k20/k24 RSX pushing 350whp with no problems too. I believe he had a stg4 6 puck

the segmented disc is a really goo one I got a good deal at the time so I picked it up...despite pushing 250/162 N/A. used it for a good 5,000 km's broke it in properly still looked new when I took it out to sell. their flywheels are really good too. Not sure if they make one for the STI but I'd happily get another one

How was drivability and pedal pressure?? I hate the puck style clutches because they have a very abrupt engagement.. I want something smooth that slips just a little so it is a smooth transition.

ive had both.

used a 2md on my vitara motor a few years back, maybe putting down 275whp on the boost i ran at the track. no issues i was happy.

currently use the comp stage 5 with upgraded pressure plate in my boosted 2 liter gsr. pedal pressure it tolerable for what it is, clutch is wearing very evenly which is also good.

i dont think you can go wrong with either, but full circling made a good point. i would just try and get the next stage up from where you are now, in case you get the itch for a few more psi which we all do eventually

Not going to really add any more power to it... This is just my daily/work car... I'm in the process of buying another car for fun that will get all the mods...

Segmented kevlar will work fine for street use. The only segmented kevlar I used was the SPEC clutch on my SR20DET and it felt like a meaty street clutch.

From personal experience, pucked clutches are awful for the street...but amazing for track use.

The only comp I drove was a stage 1 or 2. Good pedal feel, good engagement. They seem to be decent clutches.

I'd probably go with the comp if you're looking for something in that price range.

A spec is a bit more $$ for the equivalent clutch. But...they do drive really nicely.

The competition is also segmented but not Kevlar.... They are the same price.. I'm just worried if I autocross it a couple times a year it might not be so good on the Kevlar, otherwise I love every other aspect of the kevlar

Is the comp segmented ceramic? Or pucked ceramic?

I'd still go for the comp. Check what their website says about drivability.

Any consideration to clutchmasters or spec? I know the price ranges are different. But it might be worth it.

Yea my bro (no I mean my actual bro, brah) put a 6 puck sprung kevlar action clutch on a stock gsr. The engagement was just too harsh for the street, IMO. I'd get something full-faced and sprung over getting kevlar.
