College student TURBO Build!
Hi everyone, i've been on this site ever since i bought my teg almost two years ago. Man does the time fly! Im bored and decided to start a thread of my own. This first post will get you caught up to where I am now. A fast-forward if you will. I go to school full time (studying mechanical engineering) and only work during the summer so bear with me
First things first, the previous owner was in a small rear end accident, so the front core support had to be pulled out in order to close the hood. I got a helping hand from a heavy duty strap and a big tree
Some dingus keyed the carbon fiber hood..
After that whole situation was over, my parents finally forgave me for buying this car without telling them.
Not much has changed cosmetically but I did get rid of the rear spoiler and do a mild wire tuck under the hood.
Installed front and rear camber kit.
Half radiator and slim fan with samco hoses
Also id a battery relocation to the trunk.
My buddy sold me an aem fuel rail and innovative motor mounts for a deal that was too good to be true. LEt me tell you that rear mount is a PITA!! The same friend also sold me a skunk 2 intake manifold and throttle body.
Dont have any pics of the install.
OH, when i bought the car it was supposed to be "built" Eagle rods pistons, skunk 2 internals in the head, and arp studs. blah blah blah. The only reason i believed this was because it has the skunk 2 cam gears...
Long story short, when i was putting in my moroso pan i decided to look up in there.... OEM as F.. buzzkill.
Well, decide to check the head... Also stock.. bummer.
Decide oh well, going to boost anyway and see what happens. Shooting for awound 300 whp.
Heres the list of goodies i have at the moment.
- Garrett T3/TO4E .60 ar stage III turbine wheel bnib
-BWR ramhorn and dumptube
-random stainless downpipe
-AEM wideband
-Autometer carbon (water temp, oil pressure, boost)
-all oil feed and return lines
-omni 2.5 bar map sensor
Still need:
-Bov
-wastegate
-fuel pump
-Thinking hondata s300
Will be keeping this updated on the regular. Lets hear your thoughts!
How she sits currently! there's prolly some things i'm forgetting which is why im making this thread. Im excited to get this going

Also since i dont drive her during the winter I got rid of ABS system to free up space under the hood. Along with that I also removed cruise control.

Also forgot to mention car is sitting on kyb adjustable struts with ground control coilover sleeves. The ride isn't as bad as you might think.. Will be getting new brakes and stainless steel lines for my birthday coming up to prepare for booooostt!
Also I will get some pictures of the engine bay up here pretty soon. My baby is all tucked away for winter.

Had a successfull weekend. Got my boost/vacuum gauge and endyn breather kit installed.
The filter on top of the can hits the hood so im thinking i need to move that down just a hare. Got rid of the oem pcv valve and black box set up.
Heres a pic of the parts hoarding room
And finally, the money shot. Snail powerrr

Lol I also fit my whole dorm room in my Integra also. I think I had more ****, too because I also play guitar and have a mini fridge. Looks like a cool build. It's unfortunate some ******* in the scene lied about the internals of your GSR. Maybe he meant built as in rebuilt? And lol at your comment about painting the calipers red.

Haha yeah it was super tight. My suspension did not like it either. I was squatting in the back the whole two hour drive myself. I cringed every time I hit a bump hoping I wouldn't bottom out or rub.

Those type R calipers are MASSIVE! I want to be at or around 300 whp. All the parts I have should hold that easily, and i believe the turbo will make power until about 500 hp. It's just a matter of how long the motor can handle the extra horsies.

Damn, I'm impressed you got that in a coupe. I had a Line 6 Vetta II head with a 4x12 Basson cab. Luckily I have the hatch so I literally just set it down back there.
Keep us updated with the build! Looks good thus far!

If you fold down the seats theres actually a ton of room in the hatch, its awesome.
I'm sure all of you know what a fuel pump looks like, but everyone like pictures so here it is. Super fast shipping.

Re: College student TURBO Build!
They are. I have one set of wheel that they will knock the wheel weights off in not placed out of the way. They handle 300whp like it's nothing. I am at 305whp and building a second block to handle the full 500 my new turbo is capable of. New turbo should put me a hair under 350hp till I get the 2nd block built

Re: College student TURBO Build!
Yeah, it's a completely stock gsr, never been opened. Bout to bump it up to 340ish with a 5457 while I work on my second block. Id of barrel of rim needed to be a hair less than 14" to clear the caliper, then depending spoke curvature.
