Default CODE 23 HELP

i have code 23 check engine light porblem. code 23 is knock engine, can someone tell me what is a knock engine and what is wrong with my knock engine to cause it to have a problem. thanks.

perhaps you mean to say knock sensor?

yeah i meant knock sensor, my bad, but yeah, what is it and how do i get a new one.

its a pizzo (sp?) crystal that detects pinging noises in the chambers. its located on the backside of you're head under the intake manifold. get a new one from acura or honda, just ask for a knock sensor. best advice i can give is get one from a junkyard car because it'll be cheaper.

knock sensor - around $120 from autozone, or around $180 from honda/acura. If you can find used, good luck. I spent a month looking for a used one to save money.. no luck. I looked through all of tennesee and southern Ontario (when I was home for thanksgiving) and couldnt find one. Best bet, buy new. not that expensive.

The knock sensor is located underneath the intake manifold (92-93 GSR's) might be different for yours. 5 minute change at a shop if they lift the car.

if i dont change my knock sensor will it be bad driving the car with it not working properly like that? cuz all it does it have the check engine light goes on sometime. but thats about it, i don feel any difference in it. but yeah again i'm not expert so somebody help me.

if the knock trips code, vtec wont activate.
