So the other day, I was driving my nephew's '91 DA9, and I popped the car into Neutral, then once I passed a minor dip, I shifted into 2nd and the car started accelerating, next thing I knew, all 4 wheels locked up, smoke came out the tires, and the car wouldn't engage into any other gear but reverse, and the only way I was able to roll the car was by holding the clutch in, and push it to the side. The next day I coasted the car in 1st but if I let go of the clutch, the car would stall so I had to maintain my foot in the clutch pedal about 10% to get it rolling. Anyone have an idea what this might be?

Check shift linkage, if good and it will not "change" gears with engine off, you may have bent a shift fork. 94

Unless your cousin's DA9 is AWD, you hit the brakes to lock up all four tires and this has nothing to do with the transmission.

If he can't shift gears, then he has a transmission problem, but your right it would not lock up all four wheels, maybe he just thought all four locked up, or he has more then one problem. 94
