Check Engine Code 41 HELP
Alright i recently had my engine rebuilt...new head, pistons rings, seals, etc... well after everything was put back together the car started up fine and ran good with no CEL. after awhile the check engine light came on and was throwing code 41. This is the heater side of the O2 sensor. the O2 sensor was replaced and the CEL still was on throwing the same code. The ECU was changed just to see if it was because not enough voltage was being sent to it. Still same problem. We checked all wires for voltage and even re-wired some of the wires directly to the ECU to bypass any "broken" connections. still same problem. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the hell is going on with my car. When i get back home from college i will probably replace the O2 again just to see if i got lucky and had a bad one right off the bat. Also am i correct in assuming that since the CEL is on the car goes into a type of "Safe" mode wich would reduce the performance of the car if it was otherwise running fine?

Re: Check Engine Code 41 HELP (NaCk3m)
an O2 light doesn't only mean that the sensor is bad, or that there isn't enough voltage. they also go off if there is too little or too much fuel (lean vs. rich or hot vs. cold) so make sure that all the injectors and stuff like that are working correctly as well. i am not sure off the top of my head whether "hot" would mean lean or rich, but seeing as how you have tried everything else besides actually touching the engine, i would go with that, or the cat. good luck
