CEL P302 and P1399
Hey Honda Tech, my CEL recently went on again, this time it's misfire in cyl 2 and "manufactures control ignition system OR misfire" according to AllData. The first time it went on (2 weeks ago) it was P302, misfire cyl 2 and I pulled the wires and spark plugs, everything seemed completely normal, plugs were clean, wires went back into correct order. CEL went away. Drove for 2 weeks and CELs went back on yesterday. My car has been idling approximately 1.8k-2k, which makes me think CEL 1399 is being caused possibly from my EGR which might be clogged (had same symptoms of high and bogging idle from my Accord which was due to EGR). My car also seems to have a major loss in low end power (doesn't really get going like normal until 2.5k-3k rpm) which makes it obvious my cylinder must be misfiring. I just picked up a new cap & rotor, spark plug wires and spark plugs. If this doesn't do the trick, what do you guys suggest may be the cause? Will also be doing a compression test, and might as well do a leak down test since I hear a ridiculously high pitch coming from my engine bay.

can't suggest more till after the comp test that will help ppl make suggestions. is the TPS to spec tried cleaning you IACV for the high idle and any vac leaks ?

Yeah I guess the comp test will determine a lot. I've swapped my TPS a couple of months back and it was tweaked to spec. There is definitely a vac leak which is causing the high pitch noise I hear in my engine bay (only hear it with hood open when engine is running, and it dissipates a few seconds after turning off my car). What bugs me the most is the fact that P1399 covers a wide variety of POSSIBLE issues, which will give me a hard time and possibly spending a bunch load of money on unnecessary parts.

Re: CEL P302 and P1399
I would do two things which cost basically nothing. First compression test. Not to scare you but I had a friend who recently had an exact situation in his 2002 Accord. He replaced new distributor, plugs and wires and nothing. Ended up compression testing it and cylinder 3 (in his case it was P0303) was really low. Ended up replacing the motor because cylinder 3 was basically bad. Second get some carb cleaner and spray all around your intake manifold, vacuum lines, etc and see if you here a change or anything being sucked in. You didn't mention it but does the car run bad at all? Usually a vacuum leak will cause the car to stumble on idle but will clear up as the RPM's raise. Good luck, and BTW you don't have an EGR so you can rule that out.
