I recently swapped a b18b into my civic, unfortuinatly the swap did not come with a catalytic converter. Im checking out the cat's they have on car-sound.com and they give me 3 options: 1.75", 2", 2.25" . My question is which one should I buy so the cat will fit the header for the b18b as well as the b pipe for the dx. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Contact SMSP, he's a member on this board. He can fab up a catalytic converter for you. Just tell him your problem, and he'll make one for you. Heres a link to his site http://sms-products.com/index.html

It could be possible, i'm just not sure what the correct size is. Have you tried the hybrid section, they might be able to help you out.

it would be best to buy the biggest one, which will allow the most flow, then take it to a muffler shop and have a guy weld on some flanges, probably cost $30 at a shop, (ebay has cat's too, around $50)

dont listen to this dumasses. if you are NA get a 2.25. bring that to a muffler shop and make them weld it LENGTHWISE correclt for you

2.25 was the biggest option he listed...."dummasses", you don't weld a cat directly up to the exhaust, you want to have flanges so that you can take it off to work on your car, or i guess u just take your car to the shop for everything

you especially dont want to weld a carsound converter. Ive had many friends whose carsounds crapped out on them and cause them to fail smog with only 2-3 months of useage

you can always run a testpipe , i only say that bc im running a 3" open downpipe lol. dont bother searching for a ls converter either...people sell those things for ridiculous prices

I recently got a ticket and need to change my exhaust as well as a cat because I have this gut feeling I wont be able to get my ticket signed off without the cat.

in that case, just go with a carsound i guess...you dont even have to order direct from carsound, most muffler shops carry that brand

EDIT. just noticed your from san jose, i know a few local shops that carry carsound

To properly determine the what size cat you need, you need to match it to the size of the header outlet (eg. 1.75", 2.00", 2.25", 2.5") and the exhaust size.

So, which header and exhaust do you have?

Both are 1.75" (ID), so you should go with a 1.75" cat.
