Carbon Deposits on Bumper
Hey guys,
I noticed today that I have dark, black grime on my bumper above my aftermarket exhaust. I don't notice an excess of smoke coming out of the exhaust. The exhaust is a Comptech exhaust with the Quiet Tip Insert installed. What is wrong? It didn't used to be like this... is the recently installed Quiet Tip Insert somehow slowing down the exhaust gases enough that they are depositing on the bumper? Or could it be that my car needs a fuel system cleaning? Is something clogged?
Thanks,
Ben

my whole rear is black, but I haven't washed the car in about 7 months, almost 8 now!
just means you are running a little rich.
give it a tune up, if that doesn't fix it up, try a new O2 sensor, I have been putting off the O2 sensor, but I just don't have the time and it hasn't flashed any codes, so....

Re: Carbon Deposits on Bumper (samagon)
I actually had the same problem with intake and exhaust only. I would find black speckles all over my rear bumper that is oem. This problem actually pitted my back bumper and it has not yet been repaired. I do not have this problem anymore because I have modded it more as you can see below. But now I am actually running kind of not rich. I mean that it is not lean but I would like to see more fuel in the a/f ratio. To fix I will soon purchase a Greddy E-manage(awesome capabilites @ fair price)
