Get an alignment and your tires rebalanced

I'd say get the tires dynamic balanced. I don't see how a misalignment could cause vibration.

I had a problem on my old car of a MASSIVE vibration from 55-75mph. It turned out to be my axles. I could see the left driveaxle had a worn inner joint, so I replaced it and all was good. I could tell one of the joints was bad because if I turned the wheel, there was a slight lag before the inner joint at the diff casing would start turning. If the axle is good everything from the tire all the way into the inner joint of the axle should turn together w/ no lag or freeplay.

If its not the alignment , or the axles. Try checking your front rims one may have a slight bend it would cause shaking at higher speeds too.

If your rims had a large bend, I don't think the tire would balance. I would just have the tires balanced. One time I had a really bad vibration, that came and went at different speeds. It turned out to be a valve stem inside the tire.

tires/ wheel balance needed. its odd 70 is a weird point on all cars for that. pass it and it smooths out again.

is the vibration coming through the steering wheel or just the body of the car? if it's coming through the steering wheel, try this... rotate one of the front wheels to the back and see if the vibration is still coming through the steering wheel. if it's NOT then the wheel you just moved to the back is the problem. if it still vibrates, move the other side front wheel to the back. if the vibration stops, it's the second wheel you just moved to the rear. if the vibration is still there after you do this, you either have all 4 tires out of balance or something besides the wheels is the problem.

how old are the tires? when was the last time they were balanced? what is the condition of the wheels/tires? what brands are we talking about?

BTW, if you go past 90 and the vibration goes away, I'd stay away from going that fast until you solve the problem. really out of balanced tires are not good for the rest of the car and can shake stuff loose. if it's not the tires/wheels that is the problem, you may have a bigger/more serious problem that can lead to BIG problems if you're traveling that fast. either way, I'd refrain from those speeds until you solve this. my .02

let us know what's up.
