Gears moved...
About a month ago i had a spring blow out on my clutch so i replaced that. As soon as i had it all back together 2nd gear started to grind. I dont know if this was just a fluke or it was related. But anyway, i proceeded to pop the tranny open and sure enough all the synchros were borderline at best. I hunted down a used gsr tranny that had a cracked case with only 25k miles on it and did a part swap. Everything works great except all of the gears have shifted over to the left slightly. Third gear is no longer straight up, it's about an 1/8" over. This really doesn't bother me, but it's just that fist is kinda tough to get into. I replaced the change arm figuring that i had bent it. This moved the shifting locations closer to where they should be, but still not dead on. I talked to the dealer about it, and he was completely clueless.
Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Gears moved... (yaksplat)
B4 you bolt everything back, make sure you REPLACE your pilot bearing...
This lead to the unfortunate demise of my clutch & tranny.
Sequence of events...
Heard strange scraping noise... (broken spring)
2nd began grinding on high speed shift... (input shaft bearing going)
2nd grinding all the time... (input shaft bearing gone)
jumps out of 2nd going into LH turn... (I know, like wierd man...)
release bearing hangs up... (stuck in gear, cant shift.)
clutch disk soaked in oil... (no 5th.)

Re: Gears moved... (DmanNYC2001)
I replaced both bearings when i did the clutch
the shifting is as smooth as new
thers no grinding anymore
i'm just hoping theres no adjustment inside the tranny that i missed or Helms didn't tell me
