Broke my wheel lock...what now?
I was trying to change my tire and i have a wheel lock on it. For some reason the lug nuts are stuck on it really tight. I just changed the tires yesterday and now there tight as hell. i don know. Anywas while i was trying to take it off the wheel lock broke and the key. Is there any way i can buy another key and just get them to take the wheel lock off?

you can go to you local tire store and have them take it off for you. They usually have a bunch o locks, and if not they got the wheel lock removal kit. I had that happen to me before and a friend who works at tire kingdom took it off for me in like 5 minutes.

oh so i should just get all 4 wheel locks taken off. Ok, i guess i will just order another set of wheel locks once these are taken off. Works for me.

you can use a chisel to chisel it off, but this will risk you damaging you wheels. so use either a 19 or 20 MM socket, hammer it into the lock that is damaged. hammer it in very good. then used a ratchet and just loosen it up. i had to do that with my car when i bought it. stupid owner lost the key.

you are using the correct type of lug nut seat?
you can jbweld the lock to the lugnut and take it off. just understand it's gonna be permanent.

well the spare is on it right now. The other 3 tires have the lock on them and i will need to get the locks off of those sometime since the key broke now. The spare was the tire i was trying to get off. Now it just have a broken wheel lock on it and 3 lugs.

Go to Acura dealer if you can and they would be able to take it off for you. Also, I lost my lock but I have that little package it came in, there is a 1-800 # i believe on the back of it, and I just called it, told them my vin I believe and for 1-15 bucks they went me a brand new lock. Took about a week....but now I have one again

sears sells a rusted\stripped bolt remover. its a socket with teath basically. get the 19 mm one for a few bucks and crank that baby off. easy. we had a whole set of them at the shop I used to work at.

whatever. its better than believing that wheel locks will completely protect your wheels. i have wheel locks (and i always will have them) and its good to know that i'll have alternatives to waiting a few weeks if my key ever breaks.

We just ran into this same problem and a local shop I go too. They just took an impact socket hammered it over the lug and zip zip it came right off. then took the socket with the lug wedged in it to a vice and banged the lug right out.

yup you can do that if its not a completley round wheelock. if its completely round you can either drill right through the middle and let it cave in. try to airhammer it off first. if its still doesnt come off then you can destory the whole stud and replace it. its not too expensive and its easy.
