Heres what I read:

"The Main Relay will click three times during the starting process. When problems arise, one of those clicks (usually the third) is missing, making those clicks a handy diagnostics tool. If you consistently hear/feel all three clicks, the Relay is fine. DO NOT REPLACE IT."

Turn ignition to ON (but not to START): Click 1
Check Engine light goes off: Click 2
You now turn the key to START: Click 3

In my observation, with both doors shut, I turn the key to the first line (not start position). No clicks. Cluster shows NO lights. Just the aftermarket radio lights up.

Second line on the ignition is when the sounds come on. The way I would describe it is I hear a hum sound come on for just 2 seconds THEN I hear the click at which the CEL/BAT goes off. To me I describe it as a "tap" sound.

Yes this is a new OEM relay from Peoria Acura and very easy to install.

Note: Even before I installed the new relay, I still experience the same pattern with the old one. I changed it out because I thought it was bad when I wasn't hearing the "3" clicks. Also I changed it out because of starting issues in the summer.

how many miles?
it could be the coil. i had the same prob. then the coil finally went out.

There is only 2 clicks,the first is right as you turn the key to the 2nd point,there the 2nd click after you here the hum (fuel pump priming) and the engine light will go off.

I really not getting the click thing. On the ignition switch itself has three "tally" marks.

When the key is positioned to the first one, I don't hear nothing. There are no lights on the cluster. The only lights that is on is the aftermarket radio.

The second tally mark is when I hear the fuel pump prime then the click I hear AND the ONLY click.

Is it 2 clicks very close together as if hearing only 1?

So is everything I described, normal operation?

There are 3 "clicks" the first 2 will sound like 1 "click as they are very close together.

The hum is the fuel pump priming.94

Can you tell me exactly what happens in this sequence? Below is the marks on the ignition switch. Sorry this is the only way this brain of mine can understand.

The first click is the injector relay turning on.
The second click, [very close to the first] is the fuel pump relay tuning on, along with it the CEL will turn on and you will hear the fuel pump priming, [hum] the fuel system
The third click is the fuel pump relay turning off, the fuel pump will stop priming the CEL will go out.

The 4 positions of the ign. switch are...
Off - nothing
On (I)- acc. work, [radio].
Run (II)- ign. every thing works, PGM-FI Main Relay turns on, cluster will light up all acc. will work.
Start (III)- engine cranks. acc. turn off, although you will not hear it there is a click from the PGM-FI Main Relay, [fuel pump relay turning on again].

So far the car has been starting good especially when I stop the engine then start it up after a fill up. Thats where the problem was. Before I had to wait for the car to "rest" before starting her up again.

Other issues were the car just cranked and cranked and no start that is after sitting for 8 hours in my work parking lot. It started evently. Like after 20 min.
