Thats what the Bosch 4's that he is talking about are. They work well in my moms 02' Ford Escape. In a performance motor like my GSR they never worked as well as the single ignition point NGK's

Amen to that. Previous owner of my car put in Bosch platinums. They were FUBAR'd so badly that I couldn't get a consistent spark until 3K RPM. I switched to OEM NGK plugs that I bought from the dealer and I've been revvin' smooth ever since. In other words, go with what everybody is saying and STAY AWAY from Bosch Platinum plugs.

i don't know anyone who will use one of their plugs in an import or domestic. i don't know what the deal is, bosch makes great injectors and 02's but the plugs are junk.

Most people will tell you NGK platinum. I will tell you NGK Copper. Conducts better, but doesn't last as long.

Well seeing as how Autozone sells Denso plugs, its going to be hard for him to go to just any auto parts store. Just because plugs are expensive doesn't mean that they're good. Look at his Bosh +4's. When I worked at Kragen, we got incentives to sell Bosch +2 and +4 plugs. They're expensive and they suck. If you want conductivity, get coppers. If you want them to last a little longer, get platinum. I run coppers and change them every 3rd oil change depending on condition.

I buy a set of 4 NGK V-Power (single electrode) copper-core plugs, part BKR6E-11 from O'Reiley's for less than $7 per set. That's less than $2 per plug.

They only last 10K-15K miles, but they're so easy to change and so cheap that it doesn't really matter. I just change 'em out every 6-9 months or so.

I get NGK Iridiums and change somewhere around every 30,000 miles, or 3 years, depending on conditions.

That is a pretty ignorant statement. How does a japenese, german, US car know the difference between a german, japanese or US made plug?

I run Autolite or NGK Look into Rocket Modified plugs if you don't believe me.
But to the OP, the Bosch platinum 2's or 4's are a waste of cash. Ask yourself this, how is a spark going to split to 4 points? The spark will jump to the closest point.

Thats pretty much what it does. The spark alternates between all 4 points. I would imagine that this creates a terribly inefficient ignition sequence, and it does.

Not trying to argue but how is the spark suppose to alternate between the 4 points. Wouldn't it keep arching to the closest point?
