Personally,
I use Valvoline 20w50 Racing oil, it's like 2.30 a quart, and works wonderfully, especially here in hotter than hell Arizona

Peace

As long as it meets the SJ SG rating or whatever that is required. That would be in the owners manual. All conventionial oil are practically the same if it meets the criteria required by your car.

The technology to produce dino motor oil is sooooooo mature, all using the same catalysts to tailor the polymer chains, etc, etc, etc. Production costs are also the same with minor differences due to location (eg labor costs, taxes, freight, utilities, etc.)
Some costs more than say Chevron Supreme, or Unocal 76 because primarily of marketing and advertising costs. I have been a ChE for 5 years now in the oil industry.
