ball joint with no cotter pins???
i just got a ball joint today and it has no cotter pins, and the nut is different. also the rod that sticks out of the ball joint doesnt have a hole for a cotter pin...
so the only thing stopping it is the nut which has blue plastic on the end...?
confused on to why mine didnt have a cotter pin or the hole for one

that blue thing basically locks the nut on so theres no need for a cotter pin but ive never seen that if your worried take it back

will it still lock it if ive un done it a couple of times? (replaced pass axle twice in 2 days...didnt know i had antilock, so i got the one without, found out i do, had to replace)

i would just get a few of the locking nuts so when u do take them off u can throw a fresh one on there. So yea replace the nut just to be on the safe side

never seen a ball joint not use the cotter pin but if thats how there making some of them now it must be better or just as good. If i had to choose though i would choose cotter pin. Not that i dont doubt the nylock but y change a good thing

I think the cotter pin is safer....
my friend hit a tree at 50mph because he didn't think the cotter pin was important. Not even 10 minutes it lasted on a curvey road.
