Baer Brakes Trak Kit
Hello,
Does anyone have their front brake it? What can be said about them and their kit? Is $625 for the TRAK KIT a good deal? From what I was told, that includes 13 inch rotors, 2 piston calipers and even SS lines. All the brakets and hardware to go along with it as well. Everything but fluid.
Thanks

Re: Baer Brakes Trak Kit (TRM04)
I've seen the Baer brakes on a Miata...it looked really nice! Not sure on how it performs, but I'm sure it wouldn't be bad. The price is pretty cheap for a big-brake kit, but the size of the rotor (13") forces you to run at least a 17" wheel. You might be able to get away with a 16" wheel if the spokes are fairly far out (no lip on wheel). Most ppl here don't like the kits that require 17+" wheels cuz they like to stay light on the unsprung weight. Wilwood also has a big-brake kit that might fit under 16" wheels, but it's a lil more (about $800 I think). If you're looking to improve your braking, get some good pads, stainless lines, and, if you drive aggressively, some good fluid and see how you like that first. It'll prolly surprise you on how much better it feels as pads make a huge difference on braking. HTH.

Where did you get the info at? I'd like to read more about that kit as well.

Re: Baer Brakes Trak Kit
http://www.baer.com <-- more info on Baer Brakes
Brian has a nice 4-pot Wilwood kit that uses a slightly larger (tho, uglier...IMO.. ) caliper than the Wilwood kit itself. Both are nicely priced around $850-$900. Much cheaper than most of the other BBK's out there. Brembo had a set of 12" big-brake kits that fit under 16" wheels, but I dunno who carries them now...they were about $1300 or so...try searching for that kit. Most places only carry the larger Brembo kits. http://www.racingcraft.com also has a SSWorks 4-pot kit that uses Skyline GTS-T Type-M 4-pot calipers for $1350. Then there's the Spoon calipers ($1250) + 11.1" ITR/Prelude redrilled rotors ($150) setup (total $1500 w/ stainless lines). HTH.
