Default B18C1 trans vs any other?

So I know the trans in my car currently is a GSR... how do you tell if another trans is a ls or any other type of trans?

From what I can tell the spare I have has no markings in it.

Thank you in advanced.

Gearing generally what rpms you sit at in 4th at highway speeds for got the technical speeds it's 100 kph or 60 mph iirc. As for an LSD is there's a bar it's an open diff if there's no bar you have an LSD trans.

here's the math:
Individual gear ratio = ig
Final drive ratio = fd

Take
ig X fd = overall ratio from engine input shaft to ground.

So, for a GSR tranny lets use 1st gear: 3.23 X 4.40 = 14.212

So, with the tranny in 1st, if you rotate the input shaft 14.2 times, you end up with one full rotation of the axle.

Now an LS 1st gear: 3.23 X 4.266 = 13.77

So with the LS tranny in 1st, if you rotate the input shaft 13.77 times you end up with one full rotation of the axle.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now how about a useful gear to tell. Lets use 4th

GSR : 1.034 X 4.4 = 4.54

LS: 0.966 X 4.266 = 4.12

So, if you put the tranny in 4th, rotate the input shaft 4.5 turns and get almost exactly one full rotation from the axle then you have a GSR. If it takes LESS THAN 4.5 turns on the input shaft to get one full rotation of the axle, then you have an LS tranny.

Get it?

Damn it's not an LSD :-(

The reason I took it apart is cause I'm replacing syncros.
