ARP Rod bolts torque
Got my Arp rod bolts pressed in my b17 rods and the big end of the rod re-sized. My question is what should I torque the rod bolts down to? Arp suggest 50 lb/ft on the instructions, but that just seems to high. have also read a few post about guys snapping their bolts and half trying to torque them down to Arp suggested torque.

Re: ARP Rod bolts torque
I've got ARP studs in my b16 and there was some special torque sequence... but I can't remember. It was something like 40 ft lbs, undo the nuts, 40 ft lbs, undo the nuts, and then the final torque. It did feel tight but I had no problems with mine..... yet

Re: ARP Rod bolts torque
I would discuss the torque value that ARP recommends with the machinist that re-sized your rod bore(s).
50 ft/lbs does not sound high to me. My forged rods with ARP bolts are torqued to ~80 ft/lbs.
