anchor mounts
Hey guy and gals,
My name is will I'm new to the forums. I have a 1995 acura integra SE, non-vtech, 5 spd. I have two questions so far with probably many more to come.
1st. Anchor mounts. I bought the trans mount from autozone along with the passenger side anchor mount, both the old and the new anchor mount have a ton of play between the anchors guide hole and the mounting bolt. I thought maybe they gave me the wrong one so we ordered the type R trans mount and same deal, lots of play. I even ordered a 5 pc mount kit for a 95 non- Vtec, 5 spd. Same deal lots of play, is this normal?
You can see the play between the mount guide hole and the mounting bolt. The front anchor mount has equal play.
2nd. Where is the Blue ABS harness? I looked behind the glove box, passenger side kick panels, up under the glove box, on the driver side I cannot find it.

Re: anchor mounts
Okay so here is what I'm thinking, maybe this car was automatic at once and switched to a 5spd. Is there anyone here familiar with the 95's? Is the bolt on the mounting bracket larger on a stick?

Re: anchor mounts
I'll be back in a sec after I do some research.
While you wait contemplate this situation for a moment...
I purchased a set of five mounts for my 94 LS and upon spending about 6 hours installing them all I found that motor mounts were made of an extremely unforgiving rubber and the vibration of the engine was transmitted through the entire car.
It vibrated so badly, I refused to even drive the car.
So, the next day I paid more than I care to mention on a set of Legit Honda OEM mounts from my local stealership.
Another 5 hours of instal later...
I have not looked back, cost be damned, I have my car back again.
I highly recommend the OEM mounts, almost everything else I'd say go for a quality aftermarket replacement, but motor mounts are not one of those things.

Re: anchor mounts
The 5 pc kit is AEM (auto engine mount) eagle kit #0377.
The anchor mounts along with autozone duralast brand is the same diameter as the AEM kit. Even the duralast type R trans anchor mounts have the same diameter. Just to clarify what I'm using and which brands I tried.

Re: anchor mounts
Can you do a vin lookup on the car to find out what transmission it was fitted with originally?
Here is the Honda/Acura parts website, they offer a lookup tool to help you:
Acura online store - Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to shop for Parts
I just need to know if a trans swap was done.
Regarding the location of your ABS harness...
This is the manual for the 1994-2000 service manual for your vehicle.
http://www.hondahookup.com/forums/do...?do=file&id=45
ABS starts on PDF page 742.
the illustrated index should help with the locations for your wiring.

Re: anchor mounts
OR you could take a second to do a bit of research to see that what I linked is ACTUALLY the Acura online parts store.
Skip to the bottom of this post to see how to get to this site yourself THOUGH the acura.com website.
I don't want any beef, but let me explain how URLs work.
I do feel that this information is important for security online.
As a programming student with a Associates in Computer Information Technology Sciences seeking a Bachelors of Science in Computer Programming and Analysis I feel confidently qualified offer you this information.
For example:
estore.honda.com
I can break this URL down into its parts:
The Domain:
http://estore.honda.com/
This is the actual web server hosting the content.
honda.com is hosting this content.
I'm Sure we can agree that honda.com is not ghetto at all, its a legit site run by Honda themselves.
The Sub-domain:
http://estore.honda.com/
This is the sub-domain, lots of sites have sub-domains.
Its easier to manage the server this way.
For example maps.google.com
maps is a sub-domain of google.com
GOOGLE owns google.com, maps.google.com is still owned by GOOGLE.
So, the process to check out if this link is legit is...

Re: anchor mounts
Will, I don't think that amount of play is normal.
You seem to have the correct mount.
Maybe you could put a sleeve around the mounting stud to offer it a better fit in there.
But that may require a lathe to machine the sleeve.

@agent xero I wasn't calling you out I said "that site" someone who has 8k+ posts could have posted it I would have said the same thing. If you have a car that is extremely desirable to thief's(see my build thread) then yes I have every right to be paranoid, I don't live in some ghetto I live in Toronto. Honda theft is rising here ppl are getting NSX's and Evo's stolen so...yah, btw that mount doesn't fit because it's parts store junk when I fist got my first car 2 years ago all I could afford was part store stuff. It would never fit right and was of poor quality 9 times out of 10 that's just the way it is search a bit you'll see tons of others share the same view.

just like automobiles.honda.com is owned and operated by Honda.
I'm pretty sure they're legit.
But, I both recognize and understand your concern.
I considered full coverage for my vehicle for that reason alone.

Re: anchor mounts
Well I mad bushings out some hardware store fittings.
I seem to have a new problem with my cooling system.
The car never over heats barely ever reaches the half way mark. The radiator was just replaced along with the lower hose and a heater core hose (the one the exists motor under distributer cap. Lower rad hose never get hot so I replaced the thermostat and when Idle with the heat on non recirculation it gets cold soon as I hit the gas it blows warm. Water pump or clog?

Re: anchor mounts
*anchor* (insert brand here) mounts suck. OEM mounts are expensive.
best alternative: get used OEM mount from bone yard. get some 3M polyurethane. make custom poly mounts
