Default after lowering, alignment- when?

Afer lowering the car, when is the best time to get an alignment? right after or wait 2 weeks?

If I lower only 1.25 inches, do I still need a camber kit?

Get an alignment as soon as you can. If you lower only 1.25", camber kit is not necessary. If you go over 1.5", that's when a camber kit is needed.

oh okie, If I lowered 1.25 with aftermarket srpings (eiback or comptech) and shocks(koni, agx, tokico etc), I don't need a camber kit right?..

kool, alignment should be done as soon as possible then.

thanks

it seems like every car is a little different and responds differently to different levels of drop. a huge drop will obviously increase negative camber, but anywhere around 1.25-2" appears to be somewhat of a tossup. when you get an alignment, they will be able to tell you your camber measurement and from there you can decide if you need a camber kit or not.

<--- hey, I'm lucky.

A week or two should be enough time to let the springs settle before getting an alignment. You will most likely not need a camber kit for a 1.25" drop.

ah damn! It's been months since I got my car lowered, and I never got an alignment. Is that bad for my car? Or is it only bad for my tires? I'm getting a little worried now. Let me know folks!

I`m about 1.75 inches lower than stock without a camber kit. It does wear more on the inside, but with my toe dialed in properly and 5K mile tire rotations, it isn`t as bad as everybody thinks.

I like my negative camber.

Do you have any idea what your camber readings are? I just had my toe-in adjusted after lowering my car, and my camber was -2.1 front left, and -2.4 front right. Hopefully it won't wear that bad w/ good toe settings and tire rotation.

w/ that small a drop you probably wont need a camber kit.. just make sure you get an alignment and have your toe angles in check... my car is lowered w/ Eibach sportline springs and I have Koni Yellows..

i do have about 2 degrees of negative camber.. but my tires dont wear all that bad.. i rotate them every oil change and wear isnt that bad.... I got my alignment done about a week after i did my spring/shock install because i installed it myself on a saturday and waited until the following saturday to do my alignment (didnt have time)...

My fronts were nearly zeroed out for toe, which made the fronts pretty even. Something like -2 FL nad -2.1 FR. Rears were also even, but not as negative.

I lowered with H&R OE's which settled to about an inch drop. No noticible negative camber, and I never got it aligned. That was 1 year and 17,000 miles ago, and the car drives straight, and the tires(SP5000's) have no uneven wear. I kept checking for signs of wear, and they never showed up.

i have about a 2 inch drop havent got it aligned ever (18,000 miles) and my tires are still good. I know i should get an alignment but im to lazy to find a shop that will do it(to many shops says they cant get my car on the rap cause of my sideskirts). However, my car still drive straights.Tires seem at a tilt slightly but dont see no evidence of tire wear.
