Default Acceleration Problem, is my cat clogged?

Okay, so today i was driving to work and out of no where my car sounds like it's going to die. it sounded like before when one of my injectors was out, but it wasn't as bad. I got to work and called my dad to check it out..later on i drive home and the problem persist...i drove around the block and the car accelerates and then it like accelerates really slow and makes this sound..it its like the engine is bogging or watever..or not getting enough gas..tomorrow im going to change the gas filter..anyone have any clue on what the problem is? when i am in neutral, and i rev it up to 3-4k, theres this popping noise in my exhaust..please help.

. I think my motor is fine. the car wants to accelerate, but something is stopping from it. It feels like its the exhaust system. It feels like theres something clogged and it shakes the car. Can it be the catalytic converter? i changed this out about a year and half ago. The car accelerates normally, then out of no where, it stumbles to accelerate and the car shakes..and doesn't want to accelerate anymore...feels like theres something in my exhaust. could it also be my cap and rotor? i changed the tranny fluid today and the fuel filter.

check your O2 sensor, it that stupid little sensor that fits right in your exaust pipe before your cat. Its about 100 bucks to replace. You could be going fine, and then your o2 sensor acts up and says that it is not getting near the proper O2 to CO ratio and then tells the ECU to shut off the intake, restricting tha air and causing your car to slow

I have had a similar problem before, and it turned out to be a plug wire (or two) had been pulled from the wire, and not from the cap, causing a bad connection. Make sure you are getting good spark all the way across board. Good Luck.
