ABS Buzzing noise gotten alot worse then normal
I searched this site and I also search google. Didnt get alot of posts back searching "abs".
I know the normal 2-3 second buzz on the ABS unit is normal. But recently the buzz noise comes on more frequently and longer. Also when I'm driving I hear it come on. This morning drivng to work I was at a red light and that thing was on for 15+ seconds. I think I need to do something about it soon.
While doing my search and research on this topic. I found out that some people replaced that "O-Ring" under the Accumulator. I want to see if that solves my problem. Anyone replaced this O Ring before or any suggestions????
I dont want to replace the whole abs unit if I dont have to. I want to sell the car soon so dont wanna gush out close to a grand on it.
Thanks.

More than likely the ABS system just needs to be bleed.
================================================== ===
Here is the procedure for ABS brake fluid replacement and bleeding(from the Helms manual):
1.) Remove the bleeder cap from the maintenance bleeder on the modulator unit.
2.) Attach the wrench to the maintenance bleeder.
3.) Connect a rubber tube of the appropriate diameter to the maintenance bleeder, and set the other end of the rubber tube in a suitable container.
4.) While holding the rubber tube with your hand, slowly loosen the maintenance bleeder 1/8 to 1/4 to collect the brake fluid in the container.
CAUTION: Do not loosen the maintenance bleeder too much. The high-pressure brake fluid can burst out.
5.) Tighten the maintenance bleeder.
6.) Start the engine and let it idle for a minute. Stop the engine.
7.) Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. It should be below the MAX (upper) level line.
8.) Repeat the steps 4 through 7 to drain the rest of the brake fluid from the modulator unit.
9.) Remove the cap, and refill the reservoir to the MAX (upper) level with fresh brake fluid.
10.) Repeat steps 4 through 8 twice, and refill the reservoir to the MAX (upper) level with fresh brake fluid.
11.) Tighten the maintenance bleeder to the specified torque (8 lbf-ft).
12.) After replacement, start the engine and make sure that the ABS indicator light goes off.

I just ordered the o-ring from Acura. Should be here tomorrow.
So anyone else have any suggestions??
I spoke to the parts guys about the buzzing thing and he didnt know anything about it. That doesnt surprise me. Guys at the dealers are clueless anyway.

Yes. but its gotta really worse lately. It buzzes at stop signals for long periods of time.
When I first got my car years back there was practically no buzzing.. Then a year or two later 1-2 second buzz at startup.. Now its a Buzz multiple times at EVERY start up and while I drive and at signals it ocassionally buzzes for longer periods. 10 seconds or so. Its getting very annoying now.

Are you pulling a code???? More then likely almost everyone has had this problem and more then likley you'll pull code 1 8 like me. O-Ring didnt do anything for me. . . mine only turns on for like 20 or so seconds when i start the car but thats it. check your abs unit, abs lines and master cyclinder if u see any liquid. I had a high pressure leak and it was coming from my master cyclinder. GL on yours

I bumped this thread because my integra is making a buzzing noise and im wondering if its the abs. The car does'nt buzz all the time but somtimes at stop lights I can hear a loud buzzing noise, also if my blinkers on, the buzzing will alternate with the blinker? Any ideas?

I bumped this thread to see if that solved your problem.
I have a similar problem:
I get no ABS light, on cold start ups, after I start driving for a little, when i slow down (In gear revving down) the ABS makes that whine like when it pressurizes on start up. It lasts for 10 secs or until I come to a stop or put the car in neutral.
Please let me know if that O ring fixed your problem.

I am having the same problem the problem just gets worse. Has your brakes started to lock up when you drive? If so, its probably the abs module. Its gone. get a new one (Dealership Part only $1100). You can do an abs to non-abs conversion. Thats what I did.
