Default 97Integra LS for 1500? good deal?

97 Integra NEEDS TRANS

So i recently went to go see this car and it looked alright, but im just wondering if this is worth it. Also how much on average is a ls trans rebuild labor+parts? He said sometimes it goes into gear and sometimes it doesnt.

Might be a good deal if the engine is in good health, you can find used trans for dirt cheap like $400! i wouldn't bet that it won't go in gear cause of a bad clutch install which he states was replaced with a new exedy clutch. So maybe its the clutch and not even the tran itself. id say get a comp test on the engine and if all is good then it should be a good deal. does have allot of miles though. See if he will bargain on the price.

looks like it was in a front end accident. The radiator support is black and thats how they come to be painted when you replace it with an aftermarket part... ALSO the front fendors dont match the color of the rest of the car.

ALSO how is the tranny bad? if they didnt torque down the pressure plate bolts correctly they can back out, thus not allowing the car to go into gear while running and able to go into gear when turned off... seen it many times.

Thanks for the replies. It was repainted in 2012 the same year of the collision with a curb. Also i was wondering what do you think this car is worth? Originally 2000 i offered 1500 but im just wondering of thats too much and should offer him less.

If i had k series money i would have put a k20a2 in it, but sadly im stuck with the 404 b20 route. There was a very small nick of rust on the wheel well, but it was almost unnoticable. How much do you think a trans rebuild would be for am ls labor wise if thats whats wrong with it?

There are always deals out there, especially if you are patient. Bought a 2000 full running LS model with 110k, rust free from Florida for $400
