96 spec ITR no ABS on 01 GSR - Issues
I picked up a 2001 GSR (w ABS) that has a 96 spec ITR suspension and hub setup without ABS on the rear.
The ABS light in on, of course, and I was wondering what kinds of issues will I see.
Is the ABS disabled for all 4 wheels now?
Is there a way to add the wires on rear to add ABS back on?
Is there a way to turn off ABS light?
Thanks.

Well i have a 99 gsr and i converted the susp with the 96 spec ITR 4x114.3 and wheels.
The issues i came up with was only one side of the rear had the ABS sensor and the other side as well as the two fronts had no ABS, the spot where the ABS sensor bolts into was not tapped by the factory. So I'm guessing some came with ABS or something.
What i did was convert the two front with the gsr assembly so that the ABS sensor can be attached but the rear was a big pain i had the machine shop install the ABS rings on the hub for the rear BUT again the ABS holes where not tapped therefore i could not successfully install the ABS sensor so i ended up just taking out the ABS light from behind the cluster. my brakes work just fine even on hard braking but there is a chance of the brakes locking on a real hard brake.
You can try and install the ABS rings on the hub but make sure the holes are tapped on the hub for the ABS sensor to bolt on if it does then you should be able to install the ABS sensor and have the ABS working again.

I am not really that concerned about it. If I have to completely retrofit the entire system I'll just keep the car sans ABS. Did you end up keeping your ABS modulator in the engine bay or remove it?
I haven't fully inspected the front but now that I think about it I never saw the ABS lines up there either...

It doesn't bother me at all. Planning on autox the car anyway. Love the 96 spec wheels on car so I'm keeping the 4x114
I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't have an issue running the stock master cylinder, modulator but not ABS lines on the calipers.
So you mentioned you have a very similar set up. What have you done to your DC2 aside from 4x114?

You shouldn't have a problem. I ripped all of the ABS stuff out of my car. Module and all. Had no problems before and after the ABS module delete with the 4x114 set up. The one biggie that i learned from all the research is that you cannot mix ABS and non ABS when it comes to the brake booster and MC. Both have to be either non ABS (civic etc), or from an ABS car. Shouldn't really be a concerned for you since I assume both are stock and for ABS.

Yep. Both mastercylinder and brake booster and the modulator are all stock.
From what i can tell the only non stock items are the calipers.

Thanks, yea theres always a meet up somewhere but lots of immature kids there, cops always showing up, ocational wanna be gangsters showing up causing drama or thieves who stake out the scene and fallow the nice cars home and steal them later, i never go to the meets only major events and car shows.
