90 DA won't start.searched lol help!
So I have a 90 da, and it drove fine up til a week or two ago. Just wouldn't start one day. So. Checked battery, it was fine, checked starter, it was bad. Replaced the starter and still nothing. Checked allthe grounds in the engine bay and they are all in tact. It would only start by pushing it. When it did run after pushing it, the speedo would stick at 50, and the temp guage would jump up and down. Checked powerto the fuse box, it's looking ok, replaced it for the hell of it. Still no start. The starter gets power from the battery, and the the ignition switch. The starter dosnt even click. Nothing lol. Can hear the fuel pump prime when the key is turned. Even jumped the clutch safety switch. This reminds me of a while back where my friends ELD went out on his civic. Any suggestions short of tearing out the dash and inside harness??
Also tried jumping the starter to no avail. So is it just popping starters? And when u try and start it the dash lights go dim. All the fuses are fine as well btw. TIA for the help guys

I'm willing to bet that it's the electrical portion of your ignition switch going out. I would test the output from it to see how much resistance it has. Got a helms manual?

That I do. I'll have to check some more. Wouldn't it bypass that tho if I jumped the starter?

If you did a by-pass jump, [jumped the starter] and you know for sure the starter is good, but no cranking, you have a grounding problem, to test... use a set of jumper cables connecting one end of the ground set to the batt. neg.(-) and the other end to the starter itself, [case of starter], try and start the car with the key, if that does not work, try a by-pass jump, if still nothing, pull the starter and bench check it.
Also, how did you test the batt.?
Dimming lights when trying the start is also a sign of a low batt. 94
