90 DA, liquid gasket question
Installing a new radiator in my 90 Teg and i'm replacing lower and upper radiator hoses and a few others that look old and questionable.
I've pulled off the upper hose housing as it appeared to be easier to put the new hoses going the the throttle body and heater on with it off. Now that i'm going to reinstall, I see the FSM says to put liquid gasket on the housing before mating back to the head and reinstalling the 2 bolts.
I found 2 threads that i'm pretty sure made mention of this particular housing and they both said to use Hondabond or equivilant for the liquid gasket. I've read that the equivilant is Permatex Ultra Grey (the rigid high-torque rtv silicone gasket maker).
Went down to my local Slowreilly's and the assistant manager there said that I need the blue, not the grey. I said that I was under the impression that the grey is what I needed and he kinda gave me that "you're an idiot" grin and said "ok, well i've been doing this for 15 years, so good luck!"
So, now i'm wanting to know, am I right and the ultra grey is correct or was the know-it-all asst manager correct? I just really wanna be correct on this one so I can go back there and make him feel stupid... and of course fix my car correctly.

Re: 90 DA, liquid gasket question
yeah that's what i thought. it's right on the back of the damn package, but he just kinda acted like i didn't know anything. i wanted to get smart with him, but i figured i'd wait til i found out if i was correct or not before i do so. i had to leave rather quickly cause i was starting to get kinda pissed with the guy.
