Icon3 90 DA line blew/overheating need help

So I started driving home from working on my nova and the temp gauge goes up kinda fast in my car to halfway in about 10 seconds then continued to climb all the way to hot and past the H. I stopped at advance an got coolant and put it in the bottle. this was only about 6 minutes of driving. Then on the way the temperature needle stayed past the H and I had a 20min or so hilly drive home!. I noticed if I put the car in neutral the rpms would surge and then as Im stopping at home theres smoke coming from my car so I popped the hood and inspect to see I have a split hose right where the ECT sensor is. I felt both upper and lower rad hoses and they were cool also I got a CEL code of 6 and 43. Im guessing maybe from the coolant leaking on the wires? IM hoping i didnt ruin the block!
Help, thoughts, advice?

Fixed the leak and put a new bullet connector on the etc sensor wire and put it on. After driving to autozone and back home the temp gauge was on H and the radiator hoses were cool but the block was hot.

Bleed the coolant, pop off the rad cap start the motor and let it idle until all the bubbles stop and the air is out then put the cap back on and it should be good.
