Does anyone have an explaination to why there is a difference in the same interior color, Type D Graphite Black, between the '90-'91 DAs and the '92-'93 DAs?

We have 4 DAs in the family; (2) '91s, (1) '92, and (1) '93, all hatchbacks. The two '91s have shinny black interior even when their dusty. Both the '92 and '93 have a dull black interior even when they're clean. My friend's '93 GSR has a dull black interior too. I've asked the guys at the Acura dealership and they too don't even know why for sure. They said maybe Acura change manufactures after the '91s were built.

I've searched everywhere for answers and has come up with nothing. Anybody know the answer?

hmmm... My first car was a 91 Integra. I remember the dash as being a dull black both clean and dirty. Maybe someone repainted the dash? Have you checked any other 90-91 models other than the two you own?

Well, I haven't inspected any other cars lately. But before I bought my '91 GS, I remember the 4 or 5 '90-'91 DAs I had looked at all had the shinny black interior. If there were differences, I'm sure I would have notice because I'm more of an interior guy that an exterior guy. I just got my '93 LS-S earlier this month and was thinking of swapping the interior with my '91 GS. The '91 interior looks waaaaay better. (Everything is stock)

Idk theres always variations in years. Integra's designs were altered from 90-91, 92-93, 94-97, 98-01. I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Honda did something differently for the early 2nd gen Integras.

Have you ever considered painting the interior with SEM paint? You could probably get the look you want doing that, if it were a big issue to you.

Nah....I kind of like to keep every stock and original as possible. If I were to do something or add something to it, it would have to be something like an OEM optional accessory.
