Your impact gun might not have adequate torque. If you can still drive the car, take it to a tire shop, have them use one of there heavy duty big rig impact guns to loosen the bolt, then have then hand tighten it with a ratchet so you can drive it home. Then knock it off with your impact gun.

I just took my crank pulley off and i used a electric impact gun. If you hear a clicking sound when using your impact wrench, thats suppose to happen because its breaking loose the bolt. You just have to hold it on there for a little longer. Or like ruffryder said, maybe your air gun doesnt have the adequate power needed.

You can always go to O'reilys and rent a tool specifically for the honda crank pully. Its called a "honda crank pulley holder" you can always try that if the impact doesnt work again.

you need that pully holder like he just said. it will hold the pully and i just lay into my 1/2 drive3 wrench and a 1" iron pipe on the end and it will come off like butter. just position the pully holder against the ground. i rented one from honda for 100$ and they gave me them money back when i returned it. i should have just kept it.

Try this... Put the car in 5th gear. Put a screw driver in the top of the rotor. When you turn the bolt for the crank pulley, it will turn the axles(because the car is in gear) and the screw drive will catch on the caliper and allow you to break the bolt loose. Ive done this and had success.

It will work but it's going to spin your alternator, ac and power steering pulleys slower causing them to not work to their fullest potential. How much smaller is the diameter? Assuming it's not a huge amount smaller I'd think you could just adjust the pulleys/alternator to make the original belt work fine.

An electric impact worked for me. I put two of the flywheel bolts in directly opposite of each other then stuck a bar in between to hold the crank from moving. It just takes some time.

why did you change the pulley? that seems like an unnecessary complication.
