Decided to start a new thread instead of posting in my old thread about my coolant leak. Having a crank no start issue. Fuel pump is not priming after doing a head gasket replacement. I have gotten it to start and idle 2-3 times, but then when I had given it throttle it would rev to 3000 then immediately shut off and not want to start. I then noticed the fuel pump is not priming. Fuel pump is new, ~6 month old OEM Denso 190, never had issues until now. It's also not the ECU as switching from my chipped/tuned P28 to a known working virgin P72 does not change a thing. Also, after attempting to start the car and cranking for 10 seconds or so, I notice a lot of clicking coming from the left side of my dash area. Thinking main/fuel pump relay? Would this go bad randomly like this? Originally I assumed the issue had to be something I touched while doing the head gasket but I've gone over all of that and all seems well. I did pull the battery terminals before taking the head off for the job. When I first got everything back together and turned the key to ON, I could clearly hear fuel pump prime, and the engine started and idled fine. Slight pops could be heard from the exhaust, but I also have not reset the Dist timing after reinstalling it yet so I assume that was the cause of the popping. While it was idling, I gave it some throttle and when the revs hit 3000 it immediately shut off, no sputter just immediate shut down. Tried to restart after that and just cranking, no start. Went back at it a little while later and got it to start again, let it idle a good 5 minUtes or so and as soon as I gave it throttle again, 3000 RPM and engine does, never to start again so far and fuel pump is no longer heard upon turning key to ON. Really getting frustrated and could use some of your guys outside input as you can be an invaluable resource to someone like me when they get aggravated. Thanks in advance.
